"It´s a very good book that everyone should read... I want to support the author and the release of this book is for a good reason (Parkinson-Community)."

Past In Different Ways printed copies

13 November, 2008

PIDW
Carl-André Beckston (Monowasp) designer of Michael Kiske's last albums: "Kiske" & "Past In Different Ways" and the project Place Vendôme, has added the cover of the last Cd on his webshop where you can buy prints of his artwork in various sizes.

A few months ago we made an interview with André where he said about the cover:

André: "There is a Owl on the cover, and a sort of a giant clock, alchemic symbols yes, and also symbols of faith and courage, elapsed moments, the past and the future... This may seem like the cover is drowning in details, but it is not...

Imagine yourself waking up in a dream where you find yourself dreaming, and at the same time, seeing yourself in different moments of your life. Once your where young, and then your grow older, some memories last, some fade away. You get wiser, you hear a tune that reminds you of something, but it is new. When you mix and take fragments of all these things in consideration - you get a life; and life is like alchemy, instead of creating gold, you create substance, you create meaning to your life...
"

We can also say that Carl-André Beckston finished the cover of the new Place Vendôme album titled "Streets Of Fire". There is not release date yet for the album, but it's scheduled to early 2009.

TRICK or TREAT interview

15 October, 2008

Click to image larger
Here's the cover of the new album of TRICK OR TREAT: Tin Soldiers where Michael Kiske sings on two tracks: "Hello Moon" and a part of "Tears Against Your Smile".

The new album was delayed for promotional reasons. Not release date yet but it will be in late 2008.

Here is the interview with two members of TREAT OR TREAT talking about the new album "Tin Soldiers": Luca Cabri (guitarist) and Alessandro Conti (vocalist).

A few excerpts from the interview are:

Luca Cabri: "Having played Helloween covers for a couple of years and having listened to their songs during all our lifetime, naturally our songs were influenced by the Helloween style, as it can be noticed in 'Evil Needs Candy Too'. However, our intention is that of writing always what cross our minds without strictly following the power metal clichè. I think that, in the musical field in general, a band should not linger on a particular genre, but it should always experience different kind of music and extend its horizons."

Alessandro Conti: "I can tell you that I began my singing studies immediately after the listening of the 'Keepers'... It was more than 10 years ago, but maybe if I hadn’t listened to his voice, I would have never started to sing!!"

Questions & Answers

03 October, 2008

Michael Kiske answered 3 more questions in the section: Q & A (Questions & Answers).

Michael Kiske: "I can't really say much yet about the new album, got lot of ideas I still need to completely nail down. There will always be changes, useless to make an album otherwise...

As soon as I finished the vocals for the new very exciting Place Vendome album, I will be 100% just work on my new album. It'll will be coming sometime next year and colourful; that's all I can say for now.
"

Michael Kiske: "We cannot understand the Bible unless we dig much deeper into the spiritual-science that existed more hidden among us all the time. I don't know a better tool yet to re-learn these things and understand them better then Anthroposophie... There is MUCH more behind all this than you will learn through TV, the press or politicians (or Church-People)..."

Another Collaboration

16 September, 2008

Michael Kiske & Trick or Treat
Michael Kiske will sing on two songs from the new album by TRICK OR TREAT, a former Italian tribute band to Michael's old band Helloween.

The new album is scheduled for October 31th by Frontiers Records and is titled Tin Soldiers.

TRICK OR TREAT was formed by Alessandro Conti (Vocals), Luca Cabri (Guitar), Guido Benedetti (Guitar), Leone Villani Conti (Bass) and Mirko Virdis (Drums). The new album will have another guest, Michele Luppi (ex-Vision Divine), who will sing on "Take Your Chance".

Michael Kiske will sing on "Hello Moon" (whole) and "Tears Against Your Smile" (parts).

The track listing for the CD is as follows:

01. A Night In The Toyshop - Intro
02. Paper Dragon
03. Take Your Chance
04. Freedom
05. Hello Moon
06. Elevator To The Sky
07. Loser Song
08. Tears Against Your Smile
09. Final Destination
10. Tin Soldiers Pt.1 (Instrumental)
11. Tin Soldiers Pt.2

Michael Kiske: "I did sing parts in one song, and another one in whole.

What I really liked about them is, that they seem to enjoy what they are doing. In German we call it: 'Spielfreude'; that's always very uplifting and fresh. No matter how naive the lyrics sometimes may be, as long as a band really is excited about their music, I get a kick out of it. And they seem to be in in with all their heart.
"

The band began making live performances in Italy, playing classic songs from Helloween ('Keeper' era). After two years, they decided to record a 4 song demo 'Like Donald Duck' which got a good reaction from the audience. After that, the band got signed by Valery Records and on 2006 they released their first album 'Evil Needs Candy Too' (Buy it!) which was presented live on more than 60 shows around Italy.

You can hear a few songs from TRICK OR TREAT on their Myspace.
